Brief
For this project, we had the opportunity to design the lobby and cafe of a multifamily complex located in the vibrant city of San Diego. The overarching design concept was to transport residents and visitors back in time to the glamour and charm of retro Hollywood. Our intent was to infuse the spaces with a timeless elegance reminiscent of Hollywood's golden era. This design vision guided our selection of materials, color palettes, and furniture choices, all of which aimed to evoke the sophistication and allure of classic Hollywood style. The resulting lobby and cafe are spaces that seamlessly blend nostalgia with modern comfort, offering a unique and inviting atmosphere for residents and guests to enjoy.

Challenge
Designing the lobby and cafe of a San Diego multifamily complex with a retro Hollywood theme presented numerous challenges. Sourcing authentic vintage-inspired furnishings and decor while ensuring modern functionality and safety standards was a primary obstacle. Balancing the nostalgic Hollywood aesthetic with the practical needs of a multifamily space, including layout and operational efficiency, required careful consideration. Maintaining a cohesive yet distinct design concept between the lobby and cafe added complexity.
